WR Hardboard is replacing Masonite on job sites around the world — and for good reason. It's faster to install, less expensive, and easier to handle than traditional hardboard. It lays flat, covers large areas in half the time, and is water resistant for up to 72 hours. Eco-friendly and 100% made from recycled goods.
Key Benefits
Water resistant — 72 hours
Resists water penetration for up to 72 hours — protects floors from spills, rain tracking, and wet conditions on job sites.
Heavy duty impact protection
Available in 20 mil and 44 mil thickness — handles heavy foot traffic, tools, and equipment rolling over it.
Lays flat — fast installation
Rolls out flat and stays flat — cover large areas in half the time compared to rigid board alternatives like Masonite.
100% recycled materials
Eco-friendly and green — made entirely from recycled goods. The sustainable choice for job site floor protection.

Technical Data Sheet — WR Hardboard
PDF — official Pro-Tect product specifications
When covering large floor areas, use Pro-Tect WR Hardboard Seam Tape to join panels together. This maintains the water-resistant seal across seams and keeps boards from shifting under foot traffic. One roll of seam tape (3" × 60 yards) covers 180 linear feet of seams.
Water resistant, not waterproof. WR Hardboard resists water penetration for up to 72 hours — it is not a permanent waterproof membrane. For prolonged or standing water exposure, use a fully waterproof barrier solution.
