DF Studio NYC — Return & Refund Policy

DF Studio NYC is a licensed master-distributor of professional construction supplies and materials. Please read this policy carefully before purchasing.

Contact us before purchasing if you are unsure whether your item qualifies for return. Many of our products — including all liquid products, opened materials, and special-order items — are non-returnable by nature. Return Window

14-day return window

Returns must be initiated within 14 days of the delivery or pickup date. Items returned after 14 days will not be accepted.

Condition requirements

Items must be unused, uninstalled, and in original packaging with all original labels, accessories, and documentation included.

Proof of purchase required

All returns must include a valid receipt or order confirmation. Returns without proof of purchase will not be accepted.

Restocking fee

A restocking fee may apply to eligible returns. The fee will be communicated at the time your return is approved.

Non-Returnable Items

The following product categories are final sale and cannot be returned or refunded under any circumstances:

Liquid products — all categories

Finishes, sealers, stains, oils, adhesives, primers, coatings, varnishes, urethanes, epoxies, and any other liquid or semi-liquid product. No exceptions.

Opened or used items

Any product that has been opened, partially used, mixed, applied, or altered from its original condition cannot be returned.

Special-order & custom items

Products ordered specifically for a customer, custom colors, non-stock items, and special configurations are final sale.

Installed or cut materials

Flooring, panels, trim, or any material that has been installed, cut, or modified cannot be returned regardless of condition.

Consumables & abrasives

Sanding pads, grinding wheels, roller covers, brushes, and other single-use consumable items are non-returnable.

Clearance & sale items

All items marked as sale, clearance, or discounted are final sale and not eligible for return or exchange.

How to Initiate a Return

Contact us first

Call 347-801-2855 or email sales@dfstudio.nyc within 14 days of your order. Provide your order number and reason for return. Do not ship or bring items back without prior authorization.

Receive return authorization

Our team will review your request and confirm whether the item qualifies. If approved, we will issue a Return Authorization (RA) number and provide return instructions.

Return the item

Return items to our Staten Island location or ship them back as directed. Items must be securely packaged in original packaging. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility unless the return is due to our error.

Inspection & refund

Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you of the refund decision. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days depending on your card issuer.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

Damaged in transit

If your order arrives damaged, photograph the damage and packaging immediately and contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We will arrange a replacement or refund.

Wrong item received

If you received an incorrect item, contact us immediately. We will cover return shipping and send the correct item at no additional cost.

Exchanges

We do not process direct exchanges. If you need a different size, color, or product, initiate a return for the original item (if eligible) and place a new order. Contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
